The Fundamental Principle: Your Files Never Touch Our Servers
Unlike traditional conversion utilities that require uploading multi-megabyte video or image files across the public internet to remote cloud clusters, igifmaker executes 100% of video extraction, canvas slicing, NeuQuant palette generation, and LZW compression directly in your local browser sandbox via WebAssembly and Web Workers.
1. Media Data & Files
When you select or drag a video, GIF, or image file into any of our tools:
- The file is loaded directly into your computer's local RAM using standard browser APIs (
FileReader,URL.createObjectURL). - No media bytes, metadata headers, filenames, or visual frames are transmitted across the network to igifmaker or any third party.
- When you close or refresh the browser tab, all allocated memory buffers are automatically wiped by your browser's garbage collector.
2. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use invasive advertising cookies or cross-site tracking beacons. If we store anything in your browser's localStorage, it is strictly non-identifying user interface preferences (such as your chosen default frame rate, preferred theme, or mute states) to maintain convenience between sessions.
3. Analytics & Telemetry
We may collect privacy-preserving, aggregated technical metrics (such as aggregate page views, browser user agents, and referral sources) to ensure compatibility across Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Edge. We do not correlate analytics with personal identities or IP addresses.
4. Third-Party Services
Our application is hosted on high-availability static edge content delivery networks (CDNs). Static CDN edge nodes log standard HTTP request metadata (such as IP address and timestamp) solely for network security, DDoS mitigation, and server performance monitoring.
